Lawrence Stephen LowryManchester born painter, L S Lowry became world famous for his industrial paintings and artworks that reflected life in the north of England during the middle of the 20th century. Over the years he developed a unique approach via his paintings in capturing the bleak industrial era and struggles of everyday life during this period.

He was quoted as saying: “I saw the industrial scene and I was affected by it. I tried to paint it all the time. I tried to paint the industrial scene as best I could, it wasn’t easy“

Having Past away in 1976, his works have been collectable items around the world ever since. His legacy of amazing paintings captured a period of hardship, industrial settings and the mood of the time.
